I live in North Portland with my wife, two children (Lillian is 9 and Calder is 6), and our three chickens (Hen Riding Hood, Mother Dog Bone, and Caldy--blame Calder for the last one). When I am not at school, I enjoy biking my kids between libraries and coffee shops, playing board games, hiking, reading, and browsing the shelves at Powell's, Green Bean Books, and Title Wave for new books to intrigue and amuse my students.
As for the answer to the popular question, "Duck or Beaver?" I am neither. I am a Demon Deacon. I graduated from Wake Forest University, with a BA in 2000 and received my M. Ed from George Washington University in 2004. My K-12 schooling was spent down the road in West Linn, where I graduated from West Linn High School in 1996. This is my fourteenth year teaching at Bethany, and I continue to be impressed with the great things happening at our school. I feel very fortunate to be part of such an exceptional learning community. |
